40th annual scholarship banquet & fundraiser

Due to current conditions surrounding COVID-19, this year’s 40th Annual Scholarship Banquet is virtual. It is still our intention to have something to honor those who began Project Education Plus. Forty years ago, Vince Carter, Anne Gaddis, Louise Rhine, Rose Rhine, Lynette Smith, Marliyn Townsend, Wanda Triplet with assistance from Jesse White spearheaded a group of parents and community leaders to create opportunities for young people in Chicago’s Cabrini-Green neighborhood to improve academics, develop life skills, and promote participation in sports. The organization,appropriately named, Project Education Plus (PEP), gave hope to hundreds of young people and changed the trajectory of their lives. 

Today PEP continues to provide service and resources for the greater Chicagoland area that also includes senior citizen programming, holiday support for low-income families, college and career preparation and scholarships.
